Job Description First Connect Health is seeking a travel nurse RN Endoscopy for a travel nursing job in San Bernardino, California. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Endoscopy - Discipline: RN - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – Endoscopy/GI Lab Location: San Bernardino, CA Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (03/16/2026 – 06/13/2026) Shift: 8-Hour Varied Shifts (Day/Evening) | 40 Hours Guaranteed Job Summary Seeking a highly skilled GI Lab RN to join their Endoscopy team. This role is focused on the procedural and recovery phases of gastrointestinal interventions. Because this unit manages high-acuity and emergency cases, candidates must be prepared for a fast-paced environment with a significant on-call component. Key Responsibilities - Procedural Support: Assist physicians during EGD, Colonoscopy, and ERCP procedures, including biopsy collection and specimen handling. - Patient Monitoring: Provide moderate (conscious) sedation monitoring and post-procedure recovery care. - Emergency Response: Support emergency GI cases (e.g., active GI bleeds) that arrive through the ED or inpatient units. - Floating: Must be willing to float to PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) or ACU (Ambulatory Care Unit) as needed. - Documentation: Utilize Cerner (Surginet) for specialized procedural charting and medication administration. Requirements & Qualifications - Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent GI/Endoscopy experience is mandatory. - Licensure: Active California State RN License required at submission. - Certifications: * BLS & ACLS (AHA). - NIHSS (Stroke Certification). - Life Support: Prepared to handle moderate sedation and airway management during procedures. Unit Details & Expectations - Daily Volume: Average of 3–5 standard cases per day plus emergency additions. - Call Requirement: Mandatory call coverage, including weekends and holidays as needed. - Weekends: Every Other Weekend (EOW) requirement. - Attire: Special scrubs are provided by the department for use in the sterile/semi-sterile areas. - Orientation: 12 orientation hours, including 2–3 days of department-specific clinical training.
