The Inpatient Diabetes Education Department provides comprehensive support and education for patients managing diabetes. Our certified diabetes care and education specialists (CDCEs) offer personalized counseling, lifestyle modification strategies, and hands-on training to help individuals understand their condition and effectively manage blood sugar levels.In this role, you will:

• Provide resources and guidance on healthy eating, exercise, medication management, and blood glucose monitoring.
• Empower patients to make informed decisions and prevent complications through ongoing education and support.
• Manage and adjust diabetes treatment plan in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to maintain safe and effective glycemic control in hospitalized patients

  • Master of Nursing Degree.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered.Experience:
    • One (1) plus years' experience as Nurse Practitioner in diabetes education, glycemic control management, insulin pump therapy.Licensure/Certifications Requirements:
      • Current CA RN License.
      • Nurse Practitioner and Furnishing License.
      • National Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
      • Current DEA License (schedule 2-5)
      • Certified Diabetes Care Education Specialist
